2012/04/02 올스타전 스타팅 명단 발표에 대한 간략한 평가

사실 이때부터 여러가지로 바빠서 기사를 계속 못올리고 있습니다.

미완의 번역본. 그래도 어느정도 뜻은 전해지리라 봅니다. 성격상 이런건 못참는 편인데,

옛날것을 수정하는 것도 사실 귀찮아서..^^  그냥 올려두겠습니다.

West starters: K.D. goes Hollywood

Somebody get Kevin Durant a pair of sunglasses and a tuxedo to wear on the red carpet. That way he’ll feel right at home as an honorary member of Team Hollywood for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.

어떤 사람들은 Kevin Durant에게 레드카펫에서 사용할 선글라스와 턱시도를 준비하라고합니다. 그들이 느끼는 그러한 것들은 2012 NBA 올스타 게임의 할리우드 팀의 영예로운 멤버로서 알맞은 겁니다.

It’s two Lakers, two Clippers and the two-time scoring champion from Oklahoma City who’ll make up the starting lineup for the Western Conference on Feb. 26 in Orlando.

Kobe Bryant may still be the reigning royalty in the lineup, but this fresh prince is getting ready for an MVP trophy and maybe a crown.

Kevin Durant, Oklahama City - L.A만의 파티를 깨버린 그는 현재 게임당 26.6포인트, 2.1리바운드, 3.1어시스트를 기록하고 있으며, 팀의 정신적 지주이면서 두말할 필요없이 올스타에 선정될 것이 당영한 서부의 동부에서의 LeBron James와도 같은 존재입니다. 이 라인업에서 아마도 Kobe Bryant는 지금까지 그래왔듯이 제왕의 권위를 행사하겠지만, 이 새로운 왕자는 MVP 트로피를 거머쥐고 새로운 왕이 될 준비가 되어있습니다.

Blake Griffin, L.A. Clippers – The Mayor of Lob City (21.6 ppg, 11.2 rpg) is back to do more than just dunk over a Kia. The argument can be made that this is Kevin Love’s spot. But go ahead, ask Kendrick Perkins who he voted for, just as soon as everybody stops calling him Timofey Mozgov.

Blake Griffin, L.A. Clippers - 현재 게임당 21.6포인트, 11.2리바운드를 기록하고있고, 수많은 엘리웁을 만들어내는 폴-그리핀 조합의 주인공은 작년, 기아 자동차를 넘은 덩크보다 더많은 것을 하기위해 돌아왔습니다. 물론, Kevin Love의 자리라고 하는 반박도 있을 수는 있겠지만, 그에 대한 해답은 다른 모든 사람들이 Kendrick Perkins를 Timofey Mozgov라 놀리는 것을 잠깐 멈췄을때 그에게 가서 물어보면 될것입니다. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers– The West’s leading vote-getter continues to amaze at 33. He leads the league in scoring (30 ppg). He tries to answer every challenge. He single-handedly keeps the Lakers relevant. All this with a torn wrist tendon that would sideline most players. LeBron and K.D. have passed him by? You tell him.

Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers – Griffin made the Clippers fun to watch, but it’s the passing and all-around skills of CP3 (19.2 ppg, 9.1 apg, 2.5 spg) that makes them contenders in the West. He’s the perfect set-up man and a clutch scorer who has no rival in today’s game when it comes to his handle.

Some might say the glamour of playing in Hollywood got Bynum many of his votes and starting berth. But the truth is that he’s earned it.

East starters: No rest for the awesome

If ever there was an All-Star Weekend designed for first-timers, it is the one coming up at the end of this month in Orlando. The prospect of having four consecutive days off – or five or, for some teams, as  many as six – ought to shimmer like a desert oasis and beckon to any NBA veteran or even a been-there-done-that youngster who has had a previous All-Star taste and now mostly needs a nap.

만약 그곳에 뉴페이스를 위한 All-Star Weekend가 열린다면, 그것은 이번달 마지막주쯤 올랜도에서 등장할것입니다. 4일간 혹은 5일간, 때로는 몇몇 팀에게는 6일동안 지속된 올스타 투표에 대한 전망은 사막의 한줄기 빛과도 같아야 하고 또한, NBA 베테랑 혹은 이전의 올스타 게임을 맛봤었고 지금은 어떤 한방을 필요로 하는 검증된 젊은 선수들을 데려와야합니다.

Savvy NBA fans – by that, of course, we mean you – understood this and voted for their rivals’ top guys to further grind them through a hectic weekend of exertions, obligations and distractions on the road. Alas, casual fans – they know who they are – went more traditional, clamoring for their favorite marquee guys already doing the heaviest lifting.

물론 여러분들과 같은 현명한 NBA 팬들은 이것을 이해하고 있고, 그들의 라이들에게 실행와, 의무, 그리고 여정의 잠깐의 휴식으써 바쁜 주말동안 실력을 갈고닦을 수있도록 투표해야할것입니다. 아쉽게도 평범한 팬들은 더 보수적으로 갈것이고, 그들의 가장 좋아하는 중요한 선수들을 위해 이미 거대한 올림을 외쳤을것입니다.

GUARDS

Derrick Rose, Chicago – Rose (23.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 7.7 apg) has made it clear he dislikes All-Star games, where winning barely matters and he’s expected to play nice with teammates he’d rather trounce. Then again, the way the Bulls’ MVP self-motivates, he probably is still peeved that the West won last year and that, in a game in which his side got 57 field goals, Rose had just five assists in 30 minutes.

Derrick Rose, Chicago - 게임당 23.1포인트, 3.3리바운드, 7.7어시스트를 기록하고 있는 Rose는 이기는 것이 거의 의미가 없고 상대편을 깨부수는 것보다 그에게 그저 팀메이트들과 멋진 플레이를 하길 기대하는 올스타 게임을 그리 좋아하지 않는다고 분명히하였습니다.그리고, Bulls의 MVP는 자기 동기 부여로써, 아마도 작년 서부가 이겼던 것과 동부가 57필드골을 성공시키는 동안 자신은 단지 30분 출전에 5어시스트만 했다는 것에 아직까지 굉장히 화가나있습니다.

Dwyane Wade, Miami – Now 30, Wade keeps hearing talk about his impending decline. His body should have marker scars like old Boston goalie Gerry Cheevers’ mask. And Miami is 8-1 in games he has missed this season. But he remains dangerous at both ends, has averaged 22 points in his last four (20.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 5.5 apg for the season) and has perfected the transition game with James.

But what folks really want to see is James locking-and-loading on Blake Griffin – and vice versa – on Sunday as the other eight guys on the floor hang back. Who scales whom?

Carmelo Anthony, New York – Good thing for ‘Melo (23.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.4 apg) that fans aren’t as hung up as the coaches on All-Stars only coming from teams with records at or above .500. He’s alone among the 10 starters in not qualifying on that point and his scoring and shooting stats (40.4 percent) have drooped too. But he needs the ASG, if only as a stand-in for the playoffs’ second round, which Anthony has seen once.

 Carmelo Anthony, New York - 현재 게임당 23.7포인트, 6.6리바운드, 4.4어시스트를 기록하고 있는 멜로에게 좋은 것은 야투율 5할 언저리의 기록과 함께 팀에서 단한명 뿐인 올스타이자 팬들이 코치만큼 걱정하지 않는다는 것입니다. 그는 그 10명의 선수들 속에서 기록들에 어울리지 않는 혼자이고, 야투율 40.4퍼센트를 기록하고 있는 그의 득점과 슛팅 스탯은 점점 내려가고 있습니다. 그러나 만약 Antohny가 이제까지 단 한번밖에 겪어보지 못한 플레이 오프 2번째 라운드의 전초전으로써 임한다면, 그에게는 올스타 게임이 필요합니다.

CENTER

Dwight Howard, Orlando – You have to wonder how many of Howard’s vote tally came from Orlando fans vs. fans hoping to curry favor for teams eager to acquire him. It’s been the unsubtle subplot of his season. Odds are he’ll still be the biggest and most important piece of the Magic’s puzzle come Feb. 26 – his numbers still crackle (20.1 ppg, 15.4 rpg, 2.1 apg) – but the response he gets from the crowd will be curious, given what his Hamlet act has done to the Magic’s ambitions.
